Scoil na Mainistreach have recently recruited/co-opted/volunteered a group of dancers (?) to take part in The first ever Celbridge Strictly Come Dancing Competition.
One of these “dancers” is Matthew Black of Halo Café in Celbridge. The launch night is in The Kildrought Lounge on Saturday 4th October. There will be a great party as all the dancers will be announced and the actual partnerships will be revealed.
Tickets will be available at the launch night for the first time. Demand for tickets is high. Be there to guarantee getting a seat at The K Club.
A tough month of training then begins with professional choreographers. To see the results you will have to be in the K Club on Saturday 9th November.
You can win a pair of tickets for this amazing event in a raffle taking place in Halo Café. Ticket price only €1 and you can enter as many times as you like.
Here is just one of the reasons to support this event:
Scoil na Mainistreach in Celbridge has recently built a state-of-the-art unit for children with autism. Money raised from this event will go towards building a purpose built playground and the purchase of playground equipment which will benefit not only this unit but all children in the school.

Party Catering Survey
Imagine yourself standing in your house holding a glass of bubbly, greeting your family and friends. Point them in the direction of the drink and the food.
Now enjoy your party, the company of friends and family. Enjoy a choice of freshly prepared food and a slice of apple pie.
Say goodbye to a happy group of friends and family…. and accept their compliments as they leave.
Rush around preparing food all day, get sisters and aunties to butter bread and make a choice of cheese or ham sangwiches. Try to fit all the sausages in the oven at the same time as the reformed chicken nuggets and spring rolls.
Get the fist lot of washing up in the machine and tackle the next lot in the sink. Get suds on the new outfit and chip your nail varnish.
Get changed….again. Touch up nail varnish. Remember to check the oven and find the spring rolls burnt at the edges.
Answer the door and rush back to the oven. Retrieve the chicken thingies and put the smoking trays into the sink. Run the cold tap over your stinging fingers.
Smile/grimace through the pain and offer your guests the cheese and ham sangwiches.
Enjoy your party.
Say goodbye to your guests and tackle the washing up. splash suds on your outfit…again. Chip your nail varnish…again. Burn your fingers…again…

Celbridge café knows how to tempt ‘Game of Thrones’ fans
by @OisinCollins Email author
There are certainly a few creative types working in Halo Café in Celbridge… (It’s beside the Tesco)
There’s nothing like a good funny blackboard sign to get the punters into your shop and hats off to the guys at Halo Café in Celbridge as they’ve been putting out some pretty good signs as of late.
They’re fairly confident that their scones are some of the best in the country (judging by their Twitter account) so they recently put out this gem…
And it doesn’t stop there…
Fair play to artists/baristas in Halo and if you’ve any scones left over make sure to send them our way! You can check out all their other signs over on the Halo Café Twitter page.

Redecorating is a time consuming business. Not the doing, that takes a day. It’s the choosing, the thinking, the mulling over. That’s what takes the time.
The first decision was simple – Halo Cafe nearly three years old. Change the look of our little restaurant, give it a new look, brighten it up.
Second decision go the Colortrend paint factory in Celbridge and look at three hundred designs, patterns and colours. Sounds like a nightmare? That decision took ten minutes and we left with paper, paste and a smile.
We hope you like our decision making and our new look next time you call in to Halo Cafe
